Golda Meir (nicknamed Goldie by Regina) was an Israeli teacher, kibbutznik, stateswoman, politician and the fourth Prime Minister of Israel. Born in Kiev, she immigrated to the United States as a child with her family in 1906, and was educated there, becoming a teacher.
She appeared in an episode of Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum called I Am Golda Meir.
She is voiced by Hattie Kragten.
She was visited by the Riddles in 1909 so she would be approximately eleven years old.
Golda's Mom also appears in the episode.
At the end they point out she was the 3rd woman to lead a country (helping Israel become a country) and Yadina says she's her hero.
Etymology[]
Golda was born "Golda Mabovitch" to Moshe and Blume Mabovitch. She became "Golda Meyerson" upon marrying Morris Meyerson in 1917.
Her surname was not shortened to "Meir" until she was appointed the foreign minister (under Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion) in 1956.
Appearance[]
Golda, as a child, is depicted with fair skin, wavy grey hair, and thick eyebrows. She wears a blue blazer over a white blouse, a pearl necklace, a blue skirt, and blue flats.
