Sally Kristen Ride was an American astronaut and physicist. Born in Los Angeles, she joined NASA in 1978 and became the first American woman in space in 1983. Ride was the third woman in space overall, after USSR cosmonauts Valentina Tereshkova and Svetlana Savitskaya.
She does not have an Ordinary People Change the World book about her, but she appeared in the I Am Madam President special.

- She is the first LGBTQ hero to be featured in the series, as she had a relationship with a woman. However, no reference to it is made in the movie. Otherwise, it would be banned in Alabama just like the Clifford reboot and Arthur.
- She died in 2012 along with Neil Armstrong.
